Description

You are invited to the rest of your life.
Three women, from coast to coast and in between, open their mailboxes to the same intriguing invitation. Although leading entirely different lives, each has found herself at a similar, jarring crossroads. Right when these women thought they’d be comfortably settling into middle age, their carefully curated futures have turned out to be dead ends.
The sender of the invitation is Willa Silvester, who is reeling from the untimely death of her beloved husband and the reality that she must say goodbye to the small mountain town they founded together. Yet as Willa mourns her losses, an impossible question keeps staring her in the face: So now what?
Struggling to find the answer alone, fiercely independent Willa eventually calls a childhood friend who happens to be in her own world of hurt—and that’s where the idea sparks. They decide to host a weeklong interlude from life, and invite two other friends facing their own quandaries. Soon the four women converge at Willa’s Montana homestead, a place where they can learn from nature and one another as they contemplate their second acts together in the rugged wilderness of big sky country.

Excellent book with a theme for mid-life women. Thought provoking and interesting interactions between likable characters. Well edited so no grammatical annoyances. I highly recommend this read.

Well written story- and I probably would have loved it in my 50’s- however the story is one that I have already been through, and recovered from and moved on. Too much angst for me. I guess I read now for happy endings- and this was- but with the bittersweet of life lived with no guarantees.

I loved this book! I live in Montana and Willa's Grove captured the character of a familiar off-grid town and of the folks living there. It captured the wild and wonderful natural world only found in Montana, grizzly bear encounter and all. A modern day frontier story that accurately describes the impact this pristine world has on first-time visitors. The characters are relatable. People find a clarity when they leave the city and connect with a laid-back Montana town. And in Willa's Grove, it's women at critical crossroads finding truth and clarity. Treat yourself to an authentic Montana adventure. P.s I love that Willa is named after Willa Cather, one of my favorite American Frontier Writers. Now adding Laura Munson.
