  • Do politics and love mix?

    This is the first book I’ve listened to from Tinia Montford and I enjoyed the story. Jolie and Cassian are quite the pair…they have a love/hate relationship initially due to their line of work. After an agreement for a marriage of convenience and the amount of time they begin spending together…sparks fly. These two have great banter and overall dialogue and find they have a lot in common. Their feelings begin to grow as they spend time together but work always seems to throw some issues their way. I was a little salty with Cassian and how he treated Josie’s job and wasn’t very kind to her. Also, he was so focused on himself he came across as a jerk. Lol So proud of Jolie and how she stood up for herself, remained committed to her job and ended up being right…on so many levels. Myles Washington and J. Shani Michaels are new to me narrators and I thought they did an amazing job. They gave the characters perfect emotion, voice and personality. I love how narrators give readers/listeners a whole new experience to enjoying an authors words. Well done!!

    I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own. This story follow Jolie Coldwell and Cassian Anders. Jolie is fighting to get back in the good graces with her job after several controversies stemming from things she reported on. Cassian is running for governor in Chicago but is very much a bachelor. His teams thinks the optics of him being single will ruin his chances to be in office. Jolie and Cassian enter a marriage of convenience in the hopes of it benefiting both of their careers. The story is a slow burn but there is surprisingly a lot of spice in in this book and you grow to love both MCs. I also loved Helena and Aaron. This was my first read from this author and I look forward to reading more from her in the future.
