“Those who haven’t read any of the novels in the Women’s Murder Club series are cheating themselves” (BookReporter). Sergeant Lindsay Boxer, medical examiner Claire Washburn, Assistant District Attorney Yuki Castellano, and crime reporter Cindy Thomas investigate the shocking murder of a former SFPD chief in San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park.

SFPD homicide detective Lindsay Boxer knows her way around a crime scene.

But nothing can prepare her for the shock of recognition: the victim is Warren Jacobi, Lindsay’s onetime partner who rose to chief of police.

A top investigator until the end, Jacobi managed to leave Lindsay a clue.

Following a trail of evidence along the west coast, the Women’s Murder Club pledges to avenge Jacobi’s death before the killer can take another one of their own.

Not a good ending. Once the trial started the 2nd time, the story fell apart.

I have spent the last month reading all the books in this series, daily. The negative reviews seem way too harsh. The stories are readable; perfectly escapist. It seems, to me, like some of the reviewers didn’t actually read the book. I don’t like to jump into the middle of a series, but, even without knowing the full backstory, a reader could pick one up and get the gist.

The book started off great. Was a good read until the very end. I have read all the books in this series and this was the worst ending. Seemed thrown together. And they could have made it good.

Although the character development, setting and story have kept me engaged for many, many titles, this story was a bit formulaic… it seemed to draw me in , and then a single, predictable clue discovery tied up every, single unanswered dilemma in a few paragraphs. The first novel in this series that left me disappointed with the ‘obvious, simplest resolution.’ I am hopeful #26 will return to the complexity of plot/crimes/character development to draw me in once again!

I was truly disappointed with this book. I am an avid fan that anxiously awaits the next book in the series. It truly feels like the writer was rushed to come up with a plot in order to meet a deadline. It’s a plot line that had been used over and over and the author writes as if every point needs to be explained in specific detail in order to understand what’s being read. The ending is horrible. The story is built up and built up and then bam it’s over. I don’t recommend paying $14+ for this book. Wait til the price goes down or don’t purchase at all. I would have gladly waited

Really disappointing. Who actually wrote this? Stiff dialogue, oversimplified descriptions and one of the worst endings. After 24 good books in the series, this is what we get?!?

This is one of my favorite series, but this one was disappointing. Chaotic story with many loose ends that aren’t wrapped up. The worst part is that the story had great potential, but never lived up to what this series has been. Feels like a money grab.
