When I arrived in Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam, I was truly excited about the adventure that was about to start. The plan was simple: to buy a local motorbike, ride across the whole country without getting injured, to sell the motorbike.
I purchased the bike the very first day for $250 and got on my way. Escaping from crowded Ho Chi Minh City, through sand dunes in Mui Ne, mountainous Da Lat, temples in Hoi An, historical tunnels in Vinh Moc, limestone caves in Phong Nha, gorgeous Ha Long Bay, after twenty eight days I reached Hanoi. I rode over 2200 kilometres, visited well-known places as well as remote areas, and explored huge aglomerations as well as deserted jungles. I slept outside, camped with village kids and their buffalos, fished with the locals, ate grilled chicken eyes, saw breathtaking nature, rode an ostrich. Most importantly, I met amazing people, acquired countless memories, and fell in love with the country.
To share my stories, I created an interactive travelogue. It’s full of pictures, videos, maps, and interactive elements that bring you closer to my adventures. If you ever find yourself traveling in Vietnam, the book will help you find extraordinary places and get unforgettable memories. If you have never thought about visiting the country, this book will make you want to visit.
